A lovely day on the ski fields of Giza.
Every so often we hear of snow in Egypt; an uncharacteristic cold-snap sees a sprinkle of snow in the loftier parts of the Sinai.
The pyramids themselves have never seen snow, but that doesn't stop the internet from being suddenly awash with images of snow-covered pyramid slopes. And this is where it all started: Life Magazine, April 4, 1938.
This edition of Life featured a gallery of fun retouched photos, which included this one showing a group of skiers hitting the freshly-powdered slopes overlooking the pyramids at Giza.
Photoshop was still 50 years away, but that didn't meant that a few facts and realities couldn't be retouched for Life's April Fools' issue.
